The path takes you over the Gyatso La Pass (4,528 meters) and the Gawu La Pass (5,198 meters), two of Tibet's highest crossings of the Himalayan highlands. Rongbuk Monastery, which is a few kilometers from the base camp, is where the paved road ends. Dirt roads lead to the final portion of the journey to EBC. In addition, this is where you can hike to Tibet motorcycle tours' base camp and take in the breathtaking views as the mountain approaches.
